CareOregon Dental presents at NOHC
CareOregon Dental had the distinct honor and privilege to be one of only 34 organizations to present at the prestigious National Oral Health Conference (NOHC) in Memphis, Tennessee this past April. NOHC, sponsored by the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD) and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD), is the largest annual public dental health conference in the country.
We were selected to lead not just one, but two separate presentations during the conference; a 90-minute seminar and a round-table discussion, both of which showcased the innovative work we’ve accomplished with our dental network. The seminar, presented by Alyssa Franzen, Chief Dental Officer, and Alexa Jett, Dental Innovations Specialist, focused on the unique relationship we have with our primary and specialty dental provider partners. Presentation highlights included:
- Oral health integration strategies and projects in our dental plan and our coordinated care organization (CCO) regions across the state
- Unique, metrics-based payment incentive programs
- Roles designed to provide technical assistance and direct support to partners and members, especially in the Federally Qualifying Health Center (FQHC) environment
- Interdisciplinary care coordination efforts, as well as dental-specific care coordination and navigation
During the round-table luncheon, Alexa led a robust discussion on strategies we’ve used to support our partners in increasing dental utilization and achieving state quality metrics.
The opportunity to present and be recognized at the national level was truly rewarding. Our work is seen as groundbreaking and forward-thinking by the country, yet for us it’s just what we do. We know though, that it’s only possible because of the collaboration and partnership we have with you, our partners and providers.
