She is someone you’re gonna know

CareOregon Dental welcomes our new Operations Manager, Corinne Thayer! In her role, Corinne manages daily health plan operations, including network and partner relationships; access and utilization management; provider contracting; compliance; grievance/appeals timelines; metric performance; member engagement and satisfaction; and she holds the managerial umbrella over clinical and operational improvements within the provider network.

Corinne came to us from Moda/ODS, where, following her graduation from Clark College, she began her career fifteen years ago. She amassed an impressive career progression during her ODS tenure. In her most recent role as Dental Medicaid Supervisor, she managed operations and the care coordination team. She was part of the dental metric committee and oversaw contracts with all the CCOs throughout the state. Through her work, Corinne has acquired a robust understanding of Oregon’s distinctive oral health landscape. She knows Medicaid, understands how it works, and is excited to embrace the new and innovative ways CareOregon Dental works with our members.

Corinne is relationship-driven and finds fulfillment in helping people, be it a coworker, member or partner. She is passionate about customer service, both internal and external. She remembers back to early in her career when she’d assist members to better understand their dental plans, empowering them to more effectively maneuver the confusing world of insurance. She enjoys supporting team members and as a supervisor desires to help her reports “spread their wings and fly.”

A self-proclaimed “small town girl,” Corinne married her high school sweetheart. She is a lifelong Washingtonian and lover of All Things Disney. Last year she traveled with her family to Disneyland California and she is looking forward to a planned Disneyworld Florida trip next year. The highlights of her Disney visits are simply soaking up the “Disney magic” while holding the hands of her two daughters, watching their eyes light up when they spot the “hidden Mickeys” within the scenery.

When the world isn’t experiencing a global pandemic, she spends time traveling for her older daughter’s club softball team and watching her younger daughter’s jazz dance class. She also makes time to volunteer at her church’s bible school, teaching youth to craft and helping guide them to create their masterpieces.

While being at home full time is challenging for most of us, since stay-at-home orders were enacted, she has made the most of things. She’s enjoying the extra time with her family, teaching her daughters to cook and bake, and taking daily walks with her three Labradors.
