New Faces of the Dental Access Team
Welcome Marlinda Long and Heidi Anderson
After two and a half years with CareOregon’s provider customer service team, Marlinda Long transferred to CareOregon Dental as the Dental Referral and Authorization Assistant to assist the team during the third and fourth quarters of 2021. We thank Marlinda for her time supporting our dental partners and members!
Heidi Anderson is our new Dental Care and Outreach Specialist. She comes to us with 20 years in the dental field, including extensive experience as a chairside EFDA and office manager. As a Dental Care and Outreach Specialist, Heidi educates our members on their dental plan benefit package, the importance of oral health, and provides care coordination with their dental home. Her work supports both our Specialty and Primary Dental Providers (PDPs). Currently her focus has been to engage patients with diabetes, support complex cases between our PDPs and Specialists, and ensure children newly placed in the foster care system receive their oral assessments. She also follows up with members who have had a recent Emergency Department visit for dental issues to explain the benefits of establishing with their dental home and explore ways to improve their oral health engagement.
Heidi realized her destined career path when she was in the 4th grade. She remembers being enthralled by a dental assistant at an appointment and being wowed by the clean, sterile room. Before joining our team, she worked with her identical twin, Holly, who shares her passion for dental. She is excited to be in a position where she still has the opportunity to educate members. If she can influence someone to go to the dentist - she's excited to do it!
