Dental Referral & Authorization Assistant

The CareOregon Dental Department is elated to welcome Kayla Watson as our new Dental Referral and Authorization Assistant! Kayla focuses on supporting our Dental Access Team’s work to process authorizations and referrals in a timely matter, empowering us to better assist our providers and provide the best possible access and service to our members.

After years working in hospitality, Kayla was ready for a something new. Inspired by her longstanding interest in the dental field, she dove head-first into the wonderful world oral health, earning her Dental Assistant license from Concorde Career College. She then spent three years in a clinic where she was the only DA! She is excited for this transition, wherein she utilizes her experience and passion in service of a new role.

Originally from San Jose, California (go Sharks!), Kayla has lived in Oregon for more than seven years. There’s never a dull moment in her busy home which she shares with her son, her partner, her sister, three niblings, three dogs, and a cat! A sports enthusiast and supermom, she spends her free time playing softball, dirt track racing, and spending time with her seven-year-old son, Carlos.
