Provider updates

Lissett is a pivotal CareOregon Dental team member. Since 2019, she has been a voice of connection with our specialty provider network. In addition to referrals and pre-authorization processing, Lissett thrives in provider relations and especially enjoys clinic site visits and providing orientation to newly contracted providers.

Lissett’s first foray into oral health was volunteering at White Bird Dental Clinic, a nonprofit organization focused on ensuring care for people who may be uninsured, underinsured, low income or homeless, and may otherwise go without care. She found her passion. They saw an opportunity for a skilled, fervent team member, and then hired her on staff. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she assisted members of the immigrant population who would not otherwise have known dental programs existed for them. She fell in love with connecting people to care and, as a first-generation American, felt especially motivated to help those within her cultural community.

Lissett relocated to Portland and worked in patient care coordination at GenTech Dentist and at their sister clinic Dental Care Today who served patients covered by the Oregon Health Plan. She was promoted to office manager, a role wherein she frequently contacted other dental plans. Her interactions with CareOregon Dental were “far superior to all others (she) reached out to.” Eventually, that’s what lead her to join our team.

The second of five sisters, Lissett moved with her family from Los Angeles to Eugene, Oregon in the first grade. She spends her weekends relishing the bountiful offerings of the Pacific Northwest, especially road trips to the coast, relaxing at a lake, exploring new restaurants, and visiting Eugene to attend huge family cookouts.
