Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Member Transportation Support

Jun 26, 2024, 00:26 AM

Transportation to OHP-covered appointments (including dental) is a free benefit for all OHP members. CareOregon’s Transportation team oversees the NEMT programs for Health Share of Oregon and Columbia Pacific CCO members. NEMT services include:

  • Fares for public transportation.
  • Funds for mileage reimbursement.
  • Vehicle-provided rides.
  • Reimbursement for meals and lodging for members with out-of-area healthcare services.

Each NEMT program will assess members’ abilities and needs to identify the most appropriate and least costly type of transportation for them. Due to capacity constraints and Medicaid requirements for eligibility, authorizations, and cost, we cannot offer vehicle-provided rides broadly. The assessment, or screening,  process considers mobility, transportation resources, medical condition and treatment type, and personal care attendants.
