Retirement Announcement – Malia Band

Family holding a child

“It is with a very heavy heart that I announce Malia’s retirement from Clackamas Health Centers. While we will miss her tremendously, we are also excited for her as she takes on a very special new role as Nana. Malia has been an integral part of our dental program for many years, and her leadership, dedication, and commitment to our teams and patients have helped shape the program we have today.

With that bittersweet news, I am also excited to introduce Jessica Jacobs as our new Dental Operations Manager.

Jessica and Malia will be working closely together over the next month to ensure a smooth transition. This time will allow Jessica to benefit from Malia’s deep institutional knowledge and many years of experience supporting and guiding our dental program, while helping ensure continuity as we build upon the strong foundation and path Malia has led for the dental team over so many years.” – Selynn Edwards, Dental Director

Introducing Jessica Jacobs!

Jessica brings more than 30 years of experience in the dental field, with a career that spans both clinical care and dental operations. Her experience includes work in private practice as well as Kaiser Permanente, where she developed a strong operational foundation and deep understanding of how to support efficient, high-quality dental care.

For the past 3.5 years, Jessica has served as the Dental Supervisor for our Beavercreek and Gladstone clinics. In that role, she has supported clinic teams, strengthened workflows, and helped improve patient access to care. Her steady leadership, organizational strengths, and commitment to supporting teams while ensuring our operations run smoothly is a great asset for our program.

Jessica is deeply committed to supporting both the staff who provide care and the patients we serve. She values collaboration, open communication, and creating an environment where staff feel supported and empowered to do their best work. As a Clackamas County resident, Jessica is especially proud to serve the community where she lives. March 2026 Outside of work, Jessica is married to her high school sweetheart and has two grown children. Her family also includes two dogs and a horse. In her free time, she enjoys adventurous eating, gardening, and spending time in nature to recharge
